Swami Samarth Gurupeeth, Trimbakeshwar: A Visitor's Guide
The Akhil Bharatiya Shree Swami Samarth Gurupeeth is a large centre devoted to Shri Swami Samarth, at the foot of Brahmagiri hill in Trimbakeshwar. It is about 1–1.5 km from the Trimbakeshwar temple and about 1–2 km from our Bhakta Niwas. You can visit it on the same day as your Jyotirlinga darshan.
We are Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan, and our Bhakta Niwas is about 900 m from the Trimbakeshwar temple. Guests often ask our travel desk how to fit the Gurupeeth into their day, so here is what you need to know.
What the Gurupeeth is
The Gurupeeth is a centre of devotion to Shri Swami Samarth, with a temple, an ashram and a prayer hall. It stands at the foot of Brahmagiri, the hill where the Godavari river begins. Travel guides describe a large statue of Swami Samarth, a temple built on Vastu principles and a large banyan tree on the grounds.
Wikipedia places it close to the temple, so it can fit into a darshan day.
